Alaska king salmon typically range from 5-50 pounds. However, Alaska king fishing reaches its apex with the world record sized Kenai River king salmon weighing in at 97 ¼ pounds. Each year some of our lucky anglers catch fish well in the 50 – 70 pound category on the Kenai and up to 30 pounders in the smaller rivers and streams.

Without a doubt the Kenai River is the top Alaska king fishing destination. At river mile 26.5 we perfectly selected our location to get the best and least fished holes on the middle river while still being able to access down low during the same outing to give you the ultimate Kenai River king salmon fishing advantage and experience few will ever have.

Now then, doesn’t wading in small rivers and streams fishing for ocean fresh king salmon sound fun? I thought so a long time ago and have been quietly leaving the rest of the Kenai River guides at select times in June and July to guide my anglers onto some amazing small stream, light tackle king salmon fishing.
