Your Hosts
The Tappans Summer 2009, THANKS DONN!!! Master Captain Alan Tappan, principal guide, is the founder of Alaska Legacy Fish Camp. A life long fisherman, our business is the realization of his boyhood dream. From carefully selecting the perfect property, to designing and building our delightful guest cabins, Alaska Legacy was created with Alan's enthusiasm, dedication and passion for fishing on the Kenai Peninsula. A local guide since 1991, Alan is one of the most experienced professionals on the peninsula. He is licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and is permitted by Alaska State Parks, The U.S. Forest Service and The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
Treece Wright Tappan is a San Francisco native and NYU Film School grad. She spent many happy summers as a kid in the 1970's visiting her father, a "steelhead junkie", on the Skeena, Kispiox and Bulkley rivers in British Columbia. The opportunity to join Alan in Alaska in 2001 was a game changer that has been great fun for her. Treece caught her first Kenai king salmon last year (2009). Thwack. Long pause. Thwack. An even longer pause. Rod down. Fish on, baby. Let's just say it was a highlight of the season. Ruby Tappan, 6, is a beautiful human being who we are so happy to have as our child. She has enjoyed meeting guests from every continent except Antartica. We have hosted so many wonderful people over the years that we must be the happiest camp on the Kenai. See ya'll this summer!
